Coronet 44

The Coronet 44 is a pretty standard 44 camera from the 50's. I believe this is the Mark 1 version, as it is made primarily from Bakelite. A later remodelled Mark 2 version was grey plastic, much like the Kodak 44a.

The most intresting feature of this camera is the shutter button, which pulls out slightly from the camera body before it can be tripped, providing a basic mechanism to prevent accidental exposure. The the camera body is Bakelite, the back is some kind of metal, sharing this design feature with the Coronet stereo models.

Our resident Coronet 44 fan is Ed Wenn.
